Stretched canvas

  • 330-380gsm premium higher density woven cotton duck (non-synthetic)
  • medium-fine structure
  • balanced absorbency to improve adhesion
  • primed several times with gesso
  • fine quality sturdy wood frame construction
  • specially crafted bevelled stretcher bar with a side bolster (keeps the canvas from making direct contact with the front of the stretcher bar)

Iridescent medium 

  • Mix with paint to give it an iridescent finish, or use on its own to add surface highlights.

I use iridescent medium in a lot of my paintings to highlight particular areas and produce an additional layer to my work, which is more subtle than paints. It's application is particularly evident in Abstract Bloom 7 and Union

Glass beading

  • Liquitex Glass Beads are made of actual glass in an acrylic gel medium

Glass beads were used in Monochrome wing and Eyes to produce beautiful textured quality.

Rolling Sky, Touch of Fuchsia, Blue butterfly, Orange and black butterfly, Dawning I,II & III all contain elements of pastels, from subtle to bold application.

Hardwood pressed paper -

  • Each sheet of paper is made from pressed hardwood pulp. 
  • This hardwood pulp texture is great for absorbing paint.
  • The thickness of each sheet is 200 GSM.
  • Every sheet included in this set is 100% acid-free.
  • Paper sizes - A4 - 210 x 297mm (8.27 x 11.69 inches) or A3 - 297 x 420 mm (11.7 x 16.5 inches).

Speedball block printing ink -

  • Water soluble 
  • Bold colours with rich, satiny finish.
  • 16 brilliant colours.

My abstract linos are the centrepiece for pieces Chain reaction, Constellation and Blossoms.

 Rice paper for Japanese/Chinese calligraphy and sumi-e painting

  • Made in Japan from rice, wood fibre and leaves, 160gsm

Layers of rice paper are used to add a subtle texture to the pieces Twilight. and Rolling sky, it aided the application of the inks.
